Overview
Gabby Hansen assists clients with Internal Revenue Code and ERISA compliance related to employee benefits in the Firm’s Corporate Group. Gabby has experience with various aspects of employee benefits compliance including advice about implementation and design choices and document drafting for both welfare and retirement plans. Gabby also has experience providing guidance through Department of Labor investigations of both retirement and welfare plans as well as Internal Revenue Service audits. Gabby has worked on employee benefits related litigation matters, including multiemployer pension plan liability assessments and interpleader. She provides support regarding the employee benefits implications of corporate transactions for both buyers and sellers in various deal structures. Gabby’s experience includes work with clients of various sizes both public and private.
Gabby enjoys practicing law in the area of employee benefits because it presents unique challenges; there is always something new to learn.
After law school, Gabby was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Meagan A. Flynn of the Oregon Supreme Court, to the Honorable Meagan A. Flynn and Honorable Scott A. Shorr of the Oregon Court of Appeals, and to the Honorable Stephen K. Bushong formerly of the Multnomah County Circuit Court and currently of the Oregon Supreme Court.
