Weekly Highlights

CPUC

At its voting meeting last week, the CPUC approved new proforma QF contracts for the modified pricing structure it adopted in May 2020. It also opened a new rulemaking to ensure reliability in the event of an extreme heat storm in the summer of 2021. 

CAISO

The CAISO Board of Governors adopted the Hybrid Resources Phase 2 proposal last week. The proposal is intended to clarify how hybrid and collocated resources will be treated under the CAISO tariff. 

California Court of Appeals

A California appellate court upheld a superior court decision finding that a statute requiring all appeals of California Energy Commission siting decision for thermal powerplants to go directly to the California Supreme Court was unconstitutional.
