About Jenna

Jenna Poligo is an integral member of Stoel Rives’ Litigation Group. Jenna represents clients in complex business and commercial disputes, including cases involving defective products, unfair trade practices and consumer protection claims, antitrust and unfair competition, and complex insurance coverage disputes. Jenna defends clients and their interests in both individual lawsuits and class actions in state and federal courts across the country and advises clients through mediation, arbitration, trial, and appeals.

As an efficient and effective advocate for her clients, Jenna delivers practical solutions and works diligently to resolve complex disputes for clients both in and out of the formal litigation process. Jenna also stays active in the community through her pro bono and volunteer work.

Before joining Stoel Rives, Jenna was an associate and summer associate at Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP, in Philadelphia. Jenna was also judicial law clerk to the Honorable Gerald J. Pappert of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in 2015.

Class Actions

  • Defense of property management company in nationwide putative class action alleging that property managers agreed to follow recommendations of pricing algorithm to fix and artificially inflate rents for multi-family residential apartments (In re RealPage Rental Software MDL Antitrust Litigation).
  • Defense of auto insurer in putative class action lawsuit challenging claims practices for diminished value auto insurance claims in Washington.
  • Defense of Washington healthcare provider in putative class action alleging violations of Washington’s Charity Care Act. Secured favorable settlement in advance of class certification.
  • Pro bono representation of class of plaintiffs seeking to protect private and personal data from disclosure under the Washington Public Records Act.

Commercial Litigation

  • Defense of travel insurer in action brought by the Washington Attorney General asserting violations of Washington’s Consumer Protection Act, Law Against Discrimination, and Washington Insurance Code.
  • Defense of non-profit health plan brought by provider in breach of contract dispute challenging overpayment recovery efforts and reimbursement policies.
  • Defense of insurer in lawsuits seeking insurance coverage and alleging bad faith and violations of Washington’s Insurance Fair Conduct Act, relating to commercial property insurance claims.
  • Defense of auto manufacturer in products liability action involving automotive component parts alleging violations of Washington law.
  • Defense of healthcare services and products company in action brought by the Washington Attorney General asserting violations of Washington’s Consumer Protection Act and other torts.
  • Defense of healthcare provider in claims by former shareholders seeking to void a release agreement. Obtained complete dismissal of all claims with prejudice at summary judgment, obtained award of attorneys’ fees for client, and successfully defended summary judgment decision on appeal.
  • Defense of purchaser in failed real estate transaction. Secured summary judgment and specific enforcement of purchase and sale agreement on behalf of client.

Privacy and Security

  • Counsel and represented businesses regarding data breaches, incident response, breach notification, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Representation of individuals in invasion of privacy claims arising from property dispute.

Public Interest Litigation

  • Representation of pro bono clients in petitions for parole before the Indeterminate Sentencing Review Board.
  • Assisted pro bono client in legal name and gender identity change on birth certificate and governmental identification.
  • Assisted pro bono client in petitioning court for civil protection order.

Experience Gained Prior to Joining Stoel Rives

  • Member of litigation team in multi-district litigation civil antitrust action that was favorably resolved for client prior to trial.
  • Member of litigation team that simultaneously managed multiple class actions, individual actions, and arbitrations regarding breach of contract, statutory, and tort claims brought by landowners in royalty disputes.
  • Regularly obtained early resolution in putative class actions and individual actions filed by consumers pursuant to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and other common law and statutory claims by successfully compelling claims to arbitration and/or obtaining early dismissal of actions on motions to dismiss.
  • Representation of pro bono client sentenced to life without the possibility of parole as a juvenile in his resentencing and subsequent release from custody.
