While attending the University of Oregon Law School, he was an associate for the Environmental Law Clinic and the Business Law Clinic. Prior to law school, Francis was a management consultant, aiding utilities with technology implementations.

- Represented Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company in obtaining a $250 million revolving credit facility for Greenbacker's Pemaquid and Pewter portfolios of distributed generation solar and BESS projects, which include 36 total projects in ten states with combined capacity of approximately 177 MW DC.
- Assisted Granite Source Power, a new battery energy storage developer, in negotiating and executing an equity investment from New Energy Capital of up to $40 million over the next three years.
- Represented partnership between Granite Source Power and New Energy Capital in sale of a 250 MW development stage battery energy storage project in Upton County, Texas.
- Represented partnership between Granite Source Power and New Energy Capital in sale of an approximately 100 MW development stage battery energy storage project in Massachusetts.
- Represented sponsor affiliate in the creation of a partnership that will acquire a special purpose limited liability company that owns and operates a solar utility project.
- Represented Lithia Motors, Inc. (NYSE: LAD) in connection with its senior secured syndicated credit facility providing revolving and motor vehicle floorplan loan commitments totaling $6 billion.
