Overview
Bethany Butler helps clients protect and develop their intellectual property, with experience in patent prosecution and strategic IP counseling involving medical devices, biotechnology, augmented reality, energy technologies, software, and other complex technologies. With a background in biomedical and systems engineering, Bethany brings a technical perspective to understanding clients’ innovations and developing strategies to protect them. Her experience includes patent and trademark prosecution and counseling as well as intellectual property litigation.
Prior to her legal career, Bethany worked in the medical device industry in various positions, including as a systems integration engineer supporting transfusion diagnostic devices and as a manufacturing engineer supporting cardiac rhythm management devices. She was a Stoel Rives summer associate in 2023 and 2024.
