Update on Washington’s Mandate That Employees Wear Cloth Face Coverings

Blog Post

This week, Governor Inslee announced Safe Start Washington, which requires most employees to wear a cloth facial covering.

Initially, only the following employees were exempted from that requirement: those who are “working alone in an office, vehicle, or at a job site . . . or when the job has no in-person interaction” or those who are hearing impaired and reliant on facial expressions for communication.

However, the Governor just expanded that exemption to now also include employees who have a medical condition or disability that makes wearing a facial covering inappropriate.

See here for more details about Safe Start Washington.
