PORTLAND, Ore.—Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that Jennifer Martin, partner and chair of the firm’s Energy Development group and co-chair of the Energy & Natural Resources Industry Group, was named to the A Word About Wind 2022 Top 100 Legal Power List, a list of the 100 most influential lawyers working globally on the financing of wind energy projects. The list is based on industry input and independent research.
The Legal Power List ranks the top 100 lawyers who exert the most influence on the wind industry globally, through the deals they work on and the advice they provide. This includes lawyers at partner or departmental head level, as well as in-house general counsels and heads of legal.
A leader in the firm, Martin is at the forefront of and has extensive experience negotiating PPAs, virtual PPAs, and other renewable energy procurement arrangements involving myriad of technologies across the U.S., including negotiating for and with all of the different customers in the marketplace: corporate offtakers, investor-owned utilities, municipal entities, governmental authorities, direct access customers, among others. Martin’s experience in this area is in part based on her intimate knowledge of energy regulation and how energy regulatory issues have evolved over the past two decades. She understands what it takes to make an agreement financeable, which redounds to the benefit of her clients. She has represented large corporate buyers and renewable energy developers in structuring VPPAs for large or aggregated loads in various energy markets across the U.S.

Her leadership within our firm and the industry overall has been long appreciated by her colleagues and clients, and we are pleased to see her name added to the list of 100 of the most influential energy lawyers in the world,” Stoel Rives’ Firmwide Managing Partner Melissa Jones said.
