Comstock’s Magazine Names Robert Sarkisian Among Capitol Region’s 2026 Top Young Professionals

Press Release

SACRAMENTO, Calif.— Stoel Rives associate Robert Sarkisian was selected by Comstock’s Magazine as one of ten 2026 Young Professionals, up-and-coming leaders aged 40 and under throughout the Capital Region.

An employment attorney, Sarkisian advises California businesses on compliance with federal and state laws and regulations on pay equity, discrimination based on race, disability and gender identity, and other issues relevant to employers. His clients range from start-ups to national corporations, many of which operate in some of California’s most highly regulated industries, including restaurants, hospitality, medical, and home healthcare, in which compliance with continually changing regulations confers a significant market advantage.

Sarkisian also defends employers against various types of claims in court and before administrative agencies such as the California Civil Rights Division and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He defends California and national employers in wage and hour class actions, including those brought under California’s Private Attorneys’ General Act (PAGA), which authorizes employees to file lawsuits to recover civil penalties from employers for alleged labor code violations. Given his experience defending employers in court, he is also skilled at managing risk with clients to determine whether it makes sense to avoid trial through alternate dispute resolution.

California is a key driver of employment law trends across the country, and Sarkisian is a frequent speaker and author on the state’s changing regulatory environment and potential impacts on employers in California and beyond.

A long-term Capital Region resident, Sarkisian is deeply engaged in his community, currently serving as a Member of the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce and on the board of Welcome Home Housing, a grassroots Sacramento nonprofit that provides affordable long-term, shared housing and independent living support for adults living with mental health diagnoses.
