Overview
Lloyd Burman represents developers and sponsors in the acquisition, development, financing, operation, and disposition of multifamily and mixed-use housing developments. His practice focuses on complex transactions involving layered capital structures, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), tax-exempt and conventional financing, equity investments, and other public and private funding sources.
Lloyd advises clients on structuring and executing complex transactions and navigating the regulatory requirements applicable to affordable and workforce multifamily housing. He has counseled for-profit and not-for-profit developers on a broad range of real estate matters, supporting the financing, development, and operation of more than 10,000 multifamily housing units.
Prior to joining Stoel Rives, Lloyd served as Corporate Counsel of McDowell Housing Partners, LLC, a Florida-based developer, owner, and operator of multifamily and mixed-use housing communities. Before McDowell, Lloyd represented regional and national for-profit and not-for-profit developers of attainable multifamily and mixed-use housing communities as an attorney on the affordable housing and tax credit team of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP.
