Overview
Jakob Goldfarb practices in Stoel Rives' Litigation group, where he represents clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 50 companies in a broad array of complex disputes, including commercial, bankruptcy, tort, and constitutional matters. Jakob's practice spans all phases of litigation, with hands-on experience taking and defending depositions, drafting dispositive motions, arguing in court, and negotiating favorable resolutions through mediation and settlement. He is committed to understanding each client’s objectives and delivering efficient and effective solutions tailored to those goals.
Before joining Stoel Rives, Jakob was an associate with a top Pacific Northwest boutique litigation law firm and a legal clerk with Menzer Law in Seattle. Jakob was drafted in the Major League Baseball 2019 Amateur Draft; played professionally for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago White Sox; and competed in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.

- Defended a banker against breach of severance agreement and trade secret misappropriation allegations.
- Represented shareholder in shareholder oppression suit and managed unwinding of partnership. Successfully defended related trade secret misappropriation claims.
- Represented debtors in a commercial real estate personal guarantee dispute. Successfully vacated an 18 year-old eight-figure judgment against the clients, saving their family home from a forced sale in the process.
- Represented medical device manufacturer against product liability claims related to permanent nerve damage.
- Represented companies against class action cases related to overtime pay and rest breaks.
