Stoel Rives Welcomes Partner Adam C. Witt to Real Estate Group
Firm also adds real estate Of Counsel Ken Whiting in San Francisco.
SAN DIEGO—Stoel Rives, an AmLaw 200 firm, announced today the expansion of its real estate practice group with the addition of Adam C. Witt as a partner in San Diego. Witt joins from construction-focused law firm Finch, Thornton & Baird, LLP, bringing broad experience in real property transactions and construction law.
Witt’s practice focuses on a range of commercial transactions, counseling business owners, contractors and developers, tenants, landlords, buyers, and sellers of real property. He is experienced in drafting and negotiating a broad range of real estate transactions and construction contracts and is experienced in dispute resolution and litigation. Witt also advises clients on business formation, operation, and governance, and commercial transactions. Super Lawyers® recognized him as a “San Diego Rising Star” from 2019 to 2021.
Prior to attending law school, Witt worked as a journeyman ironworker for several years on bridge and commercial construction projects, gaining a unique inside perspective on the real estate, construction, and design industry.

Witt received his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, cum laude, where he received the CALI Award in Civil Procedure II and High Honors in Advanced Legal Writing, was a member of the Order of the Coif and the comments editor for San Diego Law Review. He also externed with Justice Richard D. Huffman at the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District, Division One. He earned his B.A. in History from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.

The firm has further expanded its real estate group with the addition this month of Ken Whiting in San Francisco.
Whiting joins the firm’s San Francisco office as of counsel from Rutan & Tucker, LLP, where he focused his practice on commercial real estate. Ken brings to the firm four decades of experience representing owners and developers in the acquisition, development, financing, leasing, and sale of commercial and industrial properties, and both borrowers and lenders in secured lending transactions. Whiting earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and M.A. in English from Stanford University, where he was an English Department Fellow. He earned his B.A. from the University of Washington, magna cum laude with distinction in English.
