Stoel Rives Advises SKB on Three Major Portland Real Estate Deals
Stoel Rives congratulates ScanlanKemperBard Companies (“SKB”) on the recent closings of three successful acquisitions in the Portland market. SKB is a Portland-based real estate investment, development, and operating firm focused on creating and managing commercial real estate assets across key Western U.S. markets.
In early December, SKB purchased the historic Gus Solomon Courthouse in downtown Portland from the U.S. General Services Administration. The courthouse is one of the city’s most architecturally significant civic buildings, and SKB has announced plans to relocate its corporate offices to the property while undertaking a major rehabilitation and reimagining of the site. Real estate partner Andrew Solomon led the Stoel Rives team with key contributions from corporate partner Brendan O’Scannlain and tax partner Kevin Pearson.
In mid December, SKB, together with its equity partner, acquired Washington Square II for approximately $25 million. The property is an 8 acre site adjacent to Washington Square Mall, one of Oregon’s premier retail destinations drawing more than 10 million visitors annually. SKB plans to renovate and reposition the retail assets that comprise the Washington Square II site. Real estate partner Andrew Solomon led the Stoel Rives team with key contributions from corporate partner Brendan O’Scannlain.
In mid January, SKB, together with its equity partner, acquired the Columbia River Collection for approximately $81 million. This real estate portfolio includes more than 500,000 square feet of industrial buildings across 28 acres with excellent proximity to Interstate 205, the Columbia River, and Portland International Airport. Real estate partner Scott Rosenthal led the Stoel Rives team with key contributions from corporate partner Brendan O’Scannlain.
We are proud to partner with SKB on these significant transactions and to support the company’s continued investment in Portland and its surrounding communities.
