Experience

Keelin Curran is a partner of the firm with over 20 years' experience advising employers on a range of complex employment issues such as ADA accommodation, leave law, EEO and OFCCP compliance, employment contracts, personnel policies, wage and hour, safety, union strategy, non-competition agreements, internal investigations, terminations and reductions in force. She provides training on appropriate workplace conduct and anti-harassment policies, social media and other current issues, and FMLA, ADA and wage and hour compliance. She represents employers in agency charges and employment litigation where she aims to get cases resolved or dismissed early and in a cost-effective manner.

Keelin was an associate at Cable, Langenbach, Henry & Kinerk, 1988-1997, and an associate at Perkins Coie LLP, 1986-1988.

Representative Work

  • Lahrichi v. Lumera et al – The Ninth Circuit upheld summary judgment in 2011 for the employer where a technology executive claimed religious discrimination after the attack on September 11, 2001. The United States Supreme Court denied certiorari in 2012.
  • Lawsuit dismissed on summary judgment for employer where plaintiff was terminated after employer investigation found plaintiff was the probable perpetrator of racially derogatory communications in the workplace. Plaintiff then brought a lawsuit alleging race discrimination and harassment based on those communications. (2012)
  • Sexual harassment case where non-employee doctor was accused of touching a nurse once in a sexual manner was dismissed by federal district court based on the finding that one touching incident did not constitute actionable sexual harassment. (2012)
  • Designed protected leave policies and practices and training to implement. (2008-2012)
  • Conducted multiple, complex employment investigations for large employers. (2006-2012)
