About Mary

Mary Hull is a partner in the firm’s Corporate practice group and is Chair of the firm’s Technology Ventures Group. She has a general corporate and securities law practice with an emphasis on the representation of emerging-growth companies. Mary regularly advises start-up and early-stage companies on general corporate governance matters and equity compensation issues, and she has extensive experience in representing these clients in venture capital and angel financings.

Mary has broad experience representing public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, debt financing transactions and executive compensation matters. In 2023, Best Lawyers® named her “Lawyer of the Year” in Mergers and Acquisitions Law in Portland.

Mary also has experience representing clients in the health care industry, including physician groups and coordinated care organizations, and has worked on dozens of affiliations between dental practices and companies that provide business support to dental practices.

  • Representation of CrowdStreet, the premium provider of online commercial real estate investment offerings, technology, and services in the country, in its $3.5 million Series A Preferred Stock financing, its $8 million Series B Preferred Stock financing, and its $12 million Series C Preferred Stock financing.
  • Representation of IOTAS, the leading IoT-as-a-Service smart apartment platform, in its $8.5 million Series A Preferred Stock financing led by TELUS Ventures and including participation by Liberty Global.
  • Representation of IOTAS in its acquisition by ADT (NYSE: ADT).
  • Representation of Amboy Street Ventures, a venture capital fund dedicated to the growth of sexual health and women’s health technology startups, as lead investor in Dame Products’ $7 million Series A Preferred Stock financing.
  • Representation of Evelyn & Bobbie, LLC, a team of women engineers and designers with a mission to be the most innovative intimate apparel company in the world, in its Series A Preferred Unit financing.
  • Representation of Kavi Corporation, the premier online collaboration platform for organizations and consortiums developing industry standards and specifications, in its acquisition by Higher Logic.
  • Representation of FlightStats, a leading real-time global flight data provider, in its acquisition by FlightGlobal, the aviation arm of Reed Business Information (a division of London-based RELX Group).
  • Representation of Eleven, the hospitality industry’s leading cloud-based platform for managing guest Internet, in the sale of its business center managed services division to Nashville-based Uniguest.
  • Representation of Precision Castparts Corp., the world leader in structural investment castings, forged components, and airfoil castings for aircraft engines and industrial gas turbines, in its sale of McSwain Manufacturing Corporation to Precision Holdings.
  • Representation of RADAR, the leading provider of award-winning incident response management software, in its Series A Preferred Stock financing.
  • Representation of Perpetua Power Source Technologies, a leading manufacturer of renewable energy solutions, in obtaining financing.
  • Representation of Agilyx, the first company in the world to effectively convert previously non-recyclable and low value waste plastics into crude oil through a patented system that is environmentally beneficial, in obtaining financing.
  • Representation of Learning.com, a provider of K-12 solutions to help students, teachers, and schools excel in a digital world, in its Series C Preferred Stock financing.
  • Representation of St. Charles Health System, the largest provider of medical care in Central Oregon, in its acquisition of Mountain View Hospital from Mountain View Hospital District.
  • Representation of Puget Sound Cancer Centers, one of the largest single-specialty medical oncology and hematology practices in Washington, in connection with termination of its affiliation with a practice management company and establishment of an affiliation with Swedish Health Services.
  • Representation of Portland Arena Management, the owner of Portland’s Rose Garden Arena (now the Moda Center), the primary indoor entertainment arena in Portland, in its acquisition by Vulcan.
