Gary W. Glisson

Experience

Gary Glisson is a partner of the firm and practices as a business lawyer in the firm's Technology and Intellectual Property Group. He also serves as Co-Chair of the firm's Technology Ventures Group, which advises on the formation, financing and growth of new business ventures. Gary advises clients on the intellectual property and contractual issues arising from corporate activities and commercial transactions involving their technology assets, products, services, data, information and creative content.

Specifically, Gary is experienced in the areas of contracts and licensing; sales, e-commerce and online transactions; trademark, copyright and patent protection; offshore procurement and sourcing; government contracts; export/import transactions; and business formation and venture financing. For more than 20 years, Gary has counseled companies about these issues in a variety of industries, including software and computer devices, e-commerce and online services, electronics, semiconductor and equipment manufacturing, wired and wireless communications services, medical devices, energy and renewable resources, data services hosting and protection, consulting and professional services, publishing and content creation, sports and apparel, and food and beverage.

Prior to law school, Gary worked as a public utilities economist for municipal and investor-owned utilities and as a Peace Corps Volunteer with fishing and farming cooperatives in Africa. His ongoing interest in sustainable energy and food resources originates from these early experiences and extends to his present professional practice and civic activities.
