Experience
Ted Broberg is an associate in the Employee Benefits practice section. Ted advises clients on the design, implementation, and operation of tax-qualified retirement plans, nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements, and health and welfare plans. He has also assisted in the preparation of numerous compliance and correctional filings with the Internal Revenue Service and the Employee Benefits Security Administration.
Prior to joining Stoel Rives, Ted was a law clerk with Legal Services of Eastern Missouri (Summer 2006) and with Missouri Public Defender System (Summer 2005).
Representative Transactions
- Regularly prepare Voluntary Correction Program applications under the Internal Revenue Service's Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System.
- Regularly draft plan amendments and plan restatements for defined benefit and defined contribution plans to reflect plan design and law changes.
- Drafted non-qualified phantom stock plan for large forest-products company.
- Advised renewable energy company regarding the conversion of its final-average-pay defined benefit plan to a cash balance plan.
- Assisted with the preparation of determination letter applications to the Internal Revenue Service for numerous qualified retirement plans.
- Drafted plan document and summary plan description for retiree health plan.
- Assisted in the design and preparation of transportation fringe benefit plan for large public company.
