Acquisitions, Sales and Exchanges

We negotiate and close acquisitions and sales of single properties or portfolios, preparing the full range of agreements and documents that might involve. We’ll build a team with the right experience, tapping our corporate, tax, land use and environmental lawyers if needed. We’ll also put on the team talent with insight into nuances of your industry if that is needed on the deal.


We represent both lenders and borrowers. We have significant experience documenting financings for institutional lenders, and counsel developers and owners on the full range of loans, refinancings, workouts, restructuring loans and sale-and-leasebacks. We offer specific financing experience needed by lenders as well as developers and owners of property, ranging from shopping centers in California to dairy loans in Idaho, to tax credit financing of affordable housing and renewable energy projects. 


We’re go-to leaders for sophisticated lease transactions in the Pacific Northwest and adjacent intermountain region. We represent both landlords and tenants on retail leases, ground leases, build-to-suit leases, office leases, industrial leases and subleases. This includes national retailers and commercial office building owners with multiple properties, and marquee properties in major metropolitan areas. 


Our lawyers assist clients in all types of real estate development, including office, shopping center, industrial, residential, hotel and downtown developments. We offer unusual depth in the creation and operation of condominiums and planned unit developments, and are approved by the Federal National Mortgage Association for opinions on these projects. 

Land Use

We prepare and process local, state and federal permit applications relating to land use and environmental regulation of development projects, including advice on financing options for public and private infrastructure required as a condition of permit approval.
