ADR Experience
Dick has served as a mediator or arbitrator in approximately 400 disputes for a period of more than 25 years on a wide range of complex construction and design disputes, including highway and road projects, technology facilities, condominiums, power plants (hydroelectric, nuclear and wind) and commercial projects that ranged from major league baseball parks and power plants with amounts in dispute of more than $100,000,000 to single-family residences involving far less amounts. He has served as Chair of a Dispute Review Board on a $5,000,000,000-plus nuclear power plant project and is on the Oregon Department of Transportation Claims Review Board, and the Disputes Review Boards for several projects for the Texas Department of Transportation.

He has represented both public and private parties in negotiating agreements and resolving disputes on numerous major construction projects, including:
- Nike, Inc., Original World Campus and Expansion (approximately $225 million in two projects) and design and construction agreements for NIKETOWNS across the United States and in Europe.
- Donald M. Drake and Turner Construction, Trailblazer Rose Garden (approximately $230 million project).
- Peter Kiewit & Sons, Gold Mining Facility (approximately $20 million project).
- Washington construction (dams, gold mining facility and highway projects).
- Morrison Knudsen (heavy civil construction disputes).
- City of Portland (substantial civil construction disputes).
- TriMet, Portland Airport Lightrail Extension (approximately $125 million design-build project).
- Obayashi Corporation, Electronics Facility (approximately $200 million project).
- Hyundai Semiconductor America, Inc. (approximately $230 million project).
- CH2M Hill (design professional disputes).
