About Steve
Our country thrives on competition. Unfair competition, however, warps the marketplace by benefiting a business that hasn’t earned it. Steve Lovett litigates cases between competitors, be they patent or trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, false advertising, or any other form of unfair competition. He excels at protecting his clients and leveling the playing field so they can focus on what they do best.
Steve represents businesses in intellectual property matters and complex business litigation. He has successfully advocated for clients in the agribusiness industry, including food production manufacturers, farmers, wineries and breweries, and clients in the consumer products space among others. From trade-secret cases for Fortune 500 food manufacturers to trademark infringement matters for a small family farm, Steve has handled a wide variety of unfair competition cases and knows which strategy to employ and when to employ it. The depth of knowledge and nimble decision-making skills that Steve brings to the table is invaluable to his clients.
Outside of his professional life, Steve likes to spend time at Neahkahnie Beach on the Oregon Coast with his family and German Shorthaired Pointer. A proud father, Steve regularly attends theater productions in Portland and Atlanta, where his daughter is acting and writing.
“
Steve was aggressive in dealing with opposing counsel and in protecting our interests in Court, but his advice to us was always practical and realistic. He got to know our business and together we shaped the litigation strategy to meet our business needs. Steve is also as responsive and attentive a lawyer as I’ve worked with.”
