About Rita

Rita Cmorey is a Transactional Specialist with more than 30 years of experience in many areas of real estate and provides real estate support in the areas of  real estate finance, lease negotiation and documentation, purchase agreements, due diligence, title and survey issues and sale and leaseback transactions.

During her tenure at Stoel Rives, her work has focused on closing commercial finance loans with national life insurance companies. This work includes preparing transactional documents, entity documentation review, analysis and resolution of title, survey and zoning issues and coordinating the smooth and expedient escrow closing.  She has also worked on wind energy projects, which involved clearing vesting and title issues for over 50 properties.

Rita came to Stoel Rives in 1997 after having spent ten years in the restaurant industry, in the capacity of Real Estate Manager for Country Harvest Buffet and previously for Boston Market Northwest and Skipper's Seafood and Chowder, Inc. She has extensive background in  property management and secured new sites for restaurant developments by researching demographic profiles, managing construction projects by hiring and supervising contractors, architects and designers, and overseeing soils tests and Phase I reports. Rita has extensive experience working with licensing and regulatory agencies including the Washington Liquor Control Board, Washington State Housing Finance Commission for low-income housing tax credit program, and the City of Seattle Board of Health and in obtaining minor work permits.

  • Draft documents, coordinate closing process and assisted in the closing of over 500 commercial and multisite portfolio loans throughout the western U.S. on behalf of National Life Insurance company, ranging from $5M to $125M.
  • Assisted closing and servicing transactions of over 200 loans on behalf of National Life Insurance company, ranging from $2M to $20M.
  • Coordinate documentation, diligence and closing of a range of agricultural and timber finance transactions.
