Paul Boyd is a retired partner of the firm who focused his practice on the representation of public and private corporations, emerging companies and venture investors in business and technology acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, and venture capital financings and other securities transactions. In its 2019 annual survey of America’s best attorneys for business, Chambers and Partners quoted a client: “He is the best I have ever worked with because he really knows the law, understands the business, and is highly efficient.” Paul’s practice included advising a broad range of information technology concerns, including software, semiconductor, network device, and wireless services companies. Paul also advised technology companies in the protection, transfer, and licensing of intellectual property. In addition, his practice included the formation and syndication of venture capital partnerships as well as ongoing negotiation and documentation of portfolio company acquisitions. Paul is a member of the firm’s Corporate and Technology Ventures practice sections and has been a frequent speaker at bar and industry conferences on buying and selling businesses, venture capital financings, counseling emerging growth companies, and technology transfers.
