Overview
Mary Sennes is an experienced M&A and project finance attorney, practicing in the corporate group at Stoel Rives. Mary regularly advises renewable energy clients in acquiring and selling renewable energy projects as well as on development and financing matters. Mary also counsels clients in a variety of industries on commercial transactions, corporate reorganizations, joint ventures, and M&A transactions.
Mary provides practical business advice, offering her clients experience gained at a global law firm and other U.S. law firms and as in-house counsel at a Fortune 10 company.
Mary’s pro bono activities include providing business advice to clients through LegalCORPS.

- Representation of Turtle Island Foods, SPC, dba Tofurky, owner of the plant-based Tofurky and Moocho brands that manufactures and markets products in the U.S., on its sale to Morinaga Nutritional Foods, Inc., a subsidiary of Tokyo-based food conglomerate Morinaga Milk Industry Co., Ltd.
- Representation of ENGIE in acquisition of projects with 6GW of solar and battery storage capacity.
- Representation of crop processor and merchandiser in ongoing commercial matters and in the sale of its U.S. special crops division and canola oil business.
- Representation of Midwest supermarket chain in the sale of its grocery businesses to a wholesale grocery distributor and retailer.
- Representation of U.S. producer-owned vertically integrated beef company in corporate governance and securities matters and in the sale of its majority interest in a beef packing company to a financial services company.
- Representation of biofuel technology companies and wind and solar energy companies in development activities and purchase and sales transactions throughout the U.S.
- Provided ongoing corporate representation to natural foods company on commercial contracts and business issues.
