About Maggie

Margaret (“Maggie”) Dalton is a partner in the firm’s business litigation group. Maggie represents a wide variety of clients in all phases of complex commercial litigation in both federal and state court, and in arbitration. Maggie has significant experience managing multimillion-dollar disputes involving claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and tortious interference. Maggie’s practice area covers a broad range of industries, including food and beverage, agribusiness, energy, and medical devices. Prior to joining Stoel Rives, Maggie worked as an associate for Kirkland & Ellis LLP in San Francisco, as a volunteer misdemeanor attorney for the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, and as a law clerk for the Honorable Ann D. Montgomery, United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.

  • Represented a hardware technology company against claims regarding a dispute over inventorship in pending patent applications.
  • Advised a food company client regarding allergen labeling and the proper interpretation of FDA regulations.
  • Represented a food company in a breach-of-contract suit related to a sunflower oil refinery.
  • Defended a food company against fraudulent transfer and successor-in-interest liability claims related to an orange juice processing facility.
  • Defended a private equity firm against multimillion-dollar claims of fraud and negligence.
  • Represented a food company in arguing against recognition of a claim of trespass by particulate matter related to pesticide drift.
