About Mark

Mark Morgan represents local and national employers in a variety of labor and employment matters. In addition to advising employers, his practice includes resolving disputes in state and federal courts involving allegations of discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and violation of the Family Medical Leave Act or Equal Pay Opportunity Act. Mark also has experience representing companies in employment-related class actions, unfair competition disputes, labor issues, and workplace investigations.

Before joining Stoel Rives, Mark was an attorney at Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (2019–2021) and at Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson PLLC (2018–2019). Mark also was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable James R. Verellen of the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division I (2016–2018). While in law school, he was a judicial extern for the Honorable J. Robert Leach of the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division I.

  • Advise employers regarding workplace policies and procedures and counsel them on compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Defend companies in employment-related litigation and class actions, including answering the complaint, responding to discovery, conducting witness interviews, and drafting dispositive motions.
  • Advise employers on wage and hour and rest meal break issues and defend them in related agency actions and litigation.
  • Draft post-employment agreements and policies related to FMLA leave and ADA issues.
  • Advise employers regarding unfair labor practice issues.
  • Advise companies regarding background checks and hiring practices.
  • Draft and present anti-discrimination and anti-harassment workplace training.
