About Loni

Loni L. Hinton is an associate attorney in Stoel Rives’ Construction and Design group, and is licensed to practice in Alaska, Washington, and California. She advises public and private owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, and product manufacturers with risk management, contract drafting and negotiation, course of construction disputes, and construction defect claims. Loni has also assisted owners and product suppliers with unique legal needs such as emergency repairs and insurance claims following natural disasters; and cross-border, multi-jurisdictional, complex commercial litigation arising from widespread product defects in high-rise condominium towers.

As a fourth-generation property developer in Western Washington, Loni is keenly aware of the technical and market-driven challenges her clients face. She regularly leverages her legal knowledge and experience in the field to devise practical and cost-effective solutions to the issues facing her clients.

Before joining Stoel Rives, Loni was an associate at a national construction and complex commercial litigation boutique firm located in Kirkland, Washington (2016–2018). While in law school, Loni clerked at the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office’s Economic Crimes Unit, Northwest Justice Project’s Foreclosure Prevention Unit, and several other private real estate and land use law firms.

In addition, Loni volunteers with Lawyers Fostering Independence, a legal clinic that is dedicated to improving outcomes for highly vulnerable youth transitioning out of the foster care system by arranging pro bono legal representation for civil legal problems.
