About Lauren

Lauren is a partner in the firm’s Litigation practice group and has practiced before state and federal trial courts, appellate courts, and administrative agencies. She is admitted to practice before Utah state and federal courts, as well as the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Lauren’s practice encompasses general complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on products liability defense.

Lauren’s product liability work includes defending numerous medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers, automotive and RV trailer manufacturers, and component part manufacturers, along with asbestos litigation, including talc, asbestos-containing products, and masks/respirators.

Lauren also has a general litigation practice encompassing a broad range of claims, including breach of oral and written contracts, misappropriation of trade secrets, defamation, negligence, and commercial lease disputes, to name a few.

Prior to beginning her legal career, Lauren worked as a registered nurse in orthopaedics/trauma, special education, and hospice and home health. Lauren’s background in nursing is invaluable in her defense of product liability and other personal injury cases, in particular for evaluating medical records, deposing healthcare providers and injured parties, and the identification and utilization of medical experts.

Prior to joining Stoel Rives, Lauren clerked at the Utah Supreme Court for Associate Chief Justice Ronald Nehring and worked as a medical research consultant for nursing and medical malpractice litigation. Lauren graduated from S.J. Quinney College of Law where she was an Articles Editor for the Utah Law Review. During law school, she served as a legal extern for the Honorable David O. Nuffer, United States District Court, District of Utah.

Lauren currently serves as a member of the Utah Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure and the board of directors of the Utah Chapter of the American Heart Association. Lauren is also a member of the Stoel Rives Salt Lake City Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion.
