About Miles

Miles Killingsworth is a partner in the project finance group at Stoel Rives LLP and part of the firm’s renewable energy team. Miles’s practice centers on the acquisition, development and financing of solar, storage and wind projects throughout the United States, with a particular focus on sponsor-side construction debt, back-leverage debt, and tax equity finance. As an associate at Stoel, Miles has worked to support the installation of gigawatts of renewable energy projects.

Before joining Stoel Rives, Miles volunteered for the Peace Corps in Albania. Prior to that, he worked as an associate at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP in its renewable energy project finance group.

Experience

  • Representation of Dimension Energy in connection with a $37 million equipment loan facility.
  • Representation of AES Clean Energy in its $1.7 billion warehouse credit facility, which will advance the construction of 3 GW of renewable energy projects across nine states. The financing arrangement is the largest construction warehouse facility for domestic renewable projects and builds on the initial $700 million warehouse credit facility established in January 2022. Stoel Rives also represented AES in the initial transaction.
  • Representation of Pivot Energy in connection with approximately $200 million in debt and tax equity financing of a portfolio of community solar projects.
  • Representation of Dimension Energy in connection with approximately $190 million in debt and tax equity financing of a portfolio of community solar projects.
  • Representation of Pivot Energy in connection with its acquisition of SGC Power, a Maryland-based community solar developer.
  • Representation of Pivot Energy in connection with approximately $145 million in debt and tax equity financing of a portfolio of community solar projects.
  • Representation of Forefront Power in connection with the cash equity and tax equity financing of a 131 MW portfolio of distributed solar and storage projects.
  • Representation of a renewable energy client in an equipment loan to refinance the purchase of “safe harbored” solar PV modules, collateralized by the equipment and a pledge of development stage projects.
  • Representation of a solar developer in the tax equity, construction, and back-leverage debt financing of three utility-scale solar projects in California and Colorado totaling 270 MW.
  • Representation of Forefront Power in the negotiation of a sale-leaseback financing for a portfolio of distributed generation solar facilities.
