About Anthony

J. Anthony Girolami specializes in corporate and energy-related transactions with an international focus. As a member of the Energy Development group, Anthony represents both U.S. and international clients in cross-border business transactions involving the development and financing of renewable energy projects, agricultural developments and basic infrastructure throughout Latin America. He has represented financial institutions, infrastructure developers and energy companies in the formation of joint ventures, project financings, greenfield project developments, construction and supply contracts, off-take agreements and distribution agreements.

Prior to joining Stoel Rives LLP, Anthony founded and managed the Girolami Legal Group, a business law firm in San Diego, California. He was also counsel with the Mexico City office of Chadbourne & Parke (2006–2009) and a senior associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York and São Paulo, Brazil (2003–2006). Anthony is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

  • Recent representation includes:
    • Leeward Asset Management in connection with the negotiation and documentation of a Balance of Plant Agreement for an 80 MW wind energy generation project in Illinois; and a Balance of Plant Agreement for a 120 MW wind energy generation project in Colorado; and the negotiation and documentation of a Balance of Plant Agreement for a 76 MW wind energy generation project in Lee County, Illinois.
    • Mainstream Renewable Power Ltd. in connection with the negotiation and documentation of Engineering Procurement and Construction Agreements for six wind energy projects in Chile for a total of 866 MW wind energy generation.
    • Engie in connection with a Turbine Supply Agreement with Goldwind International Holdings (HK) Limited for an 80 MW wind energy project in Texas.
  • Represented AELA Eolica Sarco SpA in connection with the negotiation and documentation of an Engineering Procurement and Construction Agreement covering the balance of plant for a 170 MW wind energy generation project in La Serena, Chile.
  • Represented AELA Eolica Llanquihue SpA in connection with the negotiation and documentation of an Engineering Procurement and Construction Agreement covering the balance of plant for a 129 MW wind energy generation project in Puerto Montt, Chile.
  • Represented Zuma Energia in connection with the negotiation and documentation of an Engineering Procurement and Construction Agreement covering the balance of plant for a 443 MW wind energy generation project near Reynosa, Mexico.
  • Represented South African Mainstream Renewable Power Kangnas Wind in connection with the negotiation and documentation of an Engineering Procurement and Construction Agreement covering the balance of plant for a 143 MW wind energy generation project near Springbok, Northern Cape, South Africa.
  • Represented South African Mainstream Renewable Power Perdekraal East Wind in connection with the negotiation and documentation of an Engineering Procurement and Construction Agreement covering the balance of plant for a 113 MW wind energy generation project near Touws River, Western Cape, South Africa.
  • Represented EDF Renewable Development Inc. Wind in connection with the negotiation and documentation of a Turnkey Engineering Procurement and Construction Agreement covering the balance of plant for a 150 MW wind energy generation in North Dakota.
