About Genta
Genta Iwasaki is a healthcare transactional and regulatory attorney. Genta has experience advising physician groups, independent physician associations, private equities investing in the healthcare space, pharmacies, and other healthcare entities in mergers and acquisitions, operational and contracting matters, general corporate counseling, provider contracting, fraud and abuse, Stark Law / Anti-Kickback Statute, government reimbursement and audit, insurance regulation, privacy and security, corporate practice of medicine, and mandatory reporting of child abuse and neglect, among others.
In addition to serving his clients, Genta serves as the Young Lawyer Liaison of the Washington State Bar Association, Health Law Section’s Executive Committee (term: 2022–2024).
Genta began his legal career with Alston & Bird in its Atlanta office (2017–2020) where, owing to his bilingualism, he counseled Japanese corporations on their major U.S. mergers and acquisitions, investments, and general corporate governance issues. He then joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP in its Century City office (2020–2022) where he focused his practice on transactions in the healthcare space.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Genta worked as an account executive with KDDI America, the U.S. subsidiary of a Japanese telecommunications conglomerate, in its New York City headquarter (2010–2014).
