About Roxy

Roxy Gonzalez is an associate practicing in the firm’s Litigation group. She represents clients in general commercial litigation in both federal and state court, and in arbitration. She has experience representing clients in matters involving contracts disputes, products liability, personal-injury defense, and cybersecurity law.

Roxy is also a Pro Se Project volunteer with the Minnesota chapter of the Federal Bar Association, through which she assists indigent clients with navigating litigation in federal court.

Prior to joining Stoel Rives, Roxy worked as an associate for Bowman and Brooke LLP and as a law clerk to the Honorable Justice David L. Lillehaug of the Supreme Court of Minnesota.

Experience gained prior to joining Stoel Rives

  • Represented an automobile manufacturer in products liability matters. As the sole associate assigned to these cases, she was responsible for day-to-day case management, communication with the client, discovery including requesting documents from client to review and prepare for production, preparation of discovery responses, and preparing case evaluation memorandum for the client. She also assisted in preparing her client’s corporate witness, who was from Japan, for deposition.
  • Represented an automobile manufacturer in products liability matters. Roxy prepared emergency motion for ex parte hearing to limit deposition time, motions in limine, outlines for witness testimony for trial, pleadings for trial, jury instructions and questionnaire, verdict forms, subpoenas for non-part witnesses, pretrial case evaluation for client, trial management report required by court, deposition designations, list of appropriate points and authorities, and witness list. In addition, she
    • Worked with experts; attended seat strength testing and assisted with determining types of testing to be conducted
    • Participated in mock trial exercises with client present
    • Prepared witness summaries for mock trial power point
  • Served as lead associate on all asbestos matters for a turbine manufacturer in Minnesota. In connection with this she was responsible for case management, including supervising other associates and the paralegal assigned to that case. In addition, she
    • Participated in defense strategy discussions with client
    • Analyzed motions for summary judgment filed by co-defendants, recommended to client to file a response to limit the potential liability exposure, prepared, and argued client’s response
    • Prepared and argued motions for partial summary judgment
    • Took plaintiff depositions and prepared deposition summaries
    • Coordinated discovery and located historical documents through the Minnesota Historical Society
    • Prepared answers
    • Prepared documents required under the Case Management Order
    • Attended the monthly asbestos hearings in Ramsey County before Chief Judge Guthmann
    • Prepared release and dismissal documents
    • Communicated with opposing counsel
