Overview
Cory Carone is a litigator who partners with clients in the technology, semiconductor, agricultural, healthcare, financial, and manufacturing industries on their high-value or strategically important matters. He regularly litigates multimillion- to multibillion-dollar disputes related to breaches of long-term supply contracts, fraud, state procurements, earnouts, and commissions or bonuses due under the Idaho Wage Claim Act. He also works on high profile matters with widespread community impact, such as advancing the public’s right to access information in the prosecution of Bryan Kohberger, defending Idaho’s legislative and congressional redistricting after the 2020 Census, and promoting the importance of truth in public discourse in multimillion-dollar defamation cases.
Outside the courtroom, Cory is a leader in the community. He is part of the Boise Metro Chamber’s Leadership Boise program, a board member for the Idaho Diaper Bank, and a fundraiser for childhood cancer research at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center. He provides thought leadership as a contributing author for treatises on litigation practices in Idaho, media law, and employment law. For his many contributions, Cory received a Leaders in Law award from the Idaho Business Review and is listed in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® for commercial litigation and appellate practice.
Before joining Stoel Rives, Cory practiced at Jones Day and served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Idaho. He also clerked for the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
