About Carissa

Carissa approaches her clients’ issues with a focus on results and an understanding that there are varying objectives to litigation.  Leveraging her wide-ranging experience litigating for both municipalities and commercial entities, Carissa works with her clients and a supportive litigation team to efficiently deliver those results. Her practice focuses on complex business litigation, representing both public and private clients in pre-trial discovery and motion practice through appeals, and in negotiating complex settlement agreements. She has specific experience in CEQA and land use litigation, consumer class actions, and products liability.

Carissa lives with her husband, a local designer and University professor, and their son in Sacramento’s vibrant Midtown neighborhood.

Before joining Stoel Rives, Carissa practiced as an associate with Greenberg Traurig LLP, and Best Best & Krieger LLP. In 2007, she was a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of California, and served as a legislative research intern for a lobbying firm from 2003 to 2006.
