The SEC Approves New 'Conflict Minerals' Rules

The Portland Business Journal recently cited a Stoel Rives legal update in its coverage of the SEC's new reporting rules regarding metals. On August 22nd, the SEC approved the adoption of rules requiring public companies to disclose materials sourced from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The new rules are expected to face legal challenges and it is unclear if they will actually take effect.
