Puget Sound Business Journal Quotes Steve Boender on Lawsuit Filed After Salesforce Acquisition of Tableau

Corporate attorney Steven Boender was quoted in the Puget Sound Business Journal in an article titled “Shareholder lawsuit unlikely to block Salesforce acquisition of Tableau,” published July 15, 2019. The article discusses a lawsuit filed by a Tableau shareholder on behalf other shareholders alleging Securities and Exchange Commission violations with respect to Tableau’s recent acquisition by Salesforce.

Boender said the lawsuit, which holds that documents filed by Tableau omit financial and other information about the deal, is like lawsuits filed after most public company acquisitions or mergers, and in most of them the defending company amends its documents and settles the suit.

“Tableau should and likely is annoyed, but not worried,” he said. “The likelihood of this materially changing anything or blocking the deal is next to zero.”
