Stoel Rives Portland Managing Partner Wally Van Valkenburg was quoted in a story by Portland Business Journal columnists Andy Giegerich and Matthew Kish about the growth of the Oregon Business Council's Leadership Summit.
The Leadership Summit, now in its 10th year, brings together business leaders to contribute to efforts that improve education, health care, public finance and job growth. The Council often works together with other business organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies to promote policies that enhance the quality of life for Oregonians.
"Nobody was quite sure when it started what it would accomplish, if anything," said Van Valkenburg, a Council director. "I think there was a sense that the business community wasn't either aligned with or effectively communicating with lawmakers in Salem."
