Law School Graduates Face a New Reality

Stoel Rives attorney Wally Van Valkenburg discussed in The Oregonian current job prospects for new law school graduates. The American Bar Association recently released employment statistics indicating that little more than half of 2011 law school graduates were able to find jobs that required a law degree.

"It's a tough business out there right now," said Van Valkenburg. He noted that a combination of outsourcing, new technology solutions and a large pool of contract lawyers are making the legal marketplace much more competitive.
