Client Spotlight: Santa Margherita USA Acquires ROCO Winery in Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. — Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that it acted as legal advisor to Santa Margherita USA in its acquisition of majority ownership of ROCO Winery located in Oregon’s Willamette Valley near Portland. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The cross-practice team that represented Santa Margherita USA was led by Portland partners Chris Hermann and James Kearney and included attorneys Gene Frassetto and Laura Rosenbaum, among others.

Santa Margherita USA, which was established in 2014 by Italian wine producer Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo, is a fine wine import company that represents more than ten world-renowned wineries from a variety of Italy’s finest wine regions, including the Veneto, Alto Adige, Franciacorta, Lugana, Tuscany, Sardinia, and Sicily.

ROCO Winery, which was established by Rollin Soles and Corby Stonebraker-Soles in 2001, is premier producer of sparkling wines, pinot noir and chardonnay.
