Stoel Rives congratulates firm client Pine Gate Renewables on entering into a partnership with John Hancock in which Pine Gate will own and manage 35 solar facilities — located in North Carolina, South Carolina and Oregon and with a total power capacity of 413 MW — while John Hancock will take an equity interest in the facilities.

Pine Gate develops and operates utility-scale solar farms that provide renewable energy to the communities in which the farms are located. The company positions its farms near existing utility infrastructure and relies on collaborative relationships with local utilities to allow for a seamless transition for customers during the integration of solar power into the grid.

The Stoel Rives deal team was led by Alex Mertens and included Kevin Pearson, Heather Stewart, Jennifer Mersing and Kevin Jun.
