Stoel Rives congratulates clients Hormaechea Development LLC and Engineered Structures, Inc. (ESI), whose projects received the Idaho Business Review’s Top Projects People’s Choice Awards, the former in the Private category and the latter in the Public category, also winning Project of the Year in the overall competition.
Hormaechea Development LLC, which is managed by Mike Hormaechea, won for the Phase 2 expansion of the Afton, its downtown Boise, mixed-use condo and commercial development. Located to take advantage of the growth in downtown Boise in employment, and in arts, entertainment, and recreational opportunities, the new building includes 32 one-, two- and three-bedroom homes, and three two-floor townhomes.
Stoel Rives’ real estate attorney Quentin Knipe has led a team that has provided legal services to Hormaechea since Phase 1 of the Afton began more than five years ago. Recently, the team, which includes attorneys Tami Boeck, Kris Ormseth and others, has worked on multiple aspects of Phase 2 that include environmental and corporate matters, and “construction to completion.”

ESI is general contractor for the Public category and Project of the Year winner – Boise State University’s Center for the Visual Arts. The 98,000-square-feet facility comprises two interconnected buildings: a five-story curved limestone and glass-clad structure containing studio space and faculty offices and a blue-stainless-steel-shingle-clad structure that is home to galleries, classrooms and administrative functions.
Tami Boeck is part of a Stoel Rives team, with attorney David Levant and others, that has worked with ESI for several years on contracting, litigation, employment and labor, and corporate matters in Idaho and several other states where ESI builds.
