Client Spotlight: EDF Renewables Closes on Sale of Merricourt Wind Project to Otter Tail Power

Stoel Rives congratulates firm client EDF Renewables on closing on the sale of its Merricourt wind project to Otter Tail Power (OTP). Merricourt is a 150 MW wind farm that EDF Renewables will design and build for OTP in McIntosh and Dickey counties in southeastern North Dakota. The estimated cost of the wind farm, which will generate enough electricity to meet the needs of more than 65,000 homes, is more than $250 million.

EDF Renewables is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 30 years of experience in a range of services spanning project origination, development, sales and marketing, to long-term asset management. The company specializes in projects in areas that include onshore and offshore wind, solar photovoltaic, and storage, and in distributed solutions such as solar, solar+storage, and EV charging and energy management.

Otter Tail Power Company is an electricity and energy services provider with more than a quarter million customers in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
