Stoel Rives LLP congratulates client Edison Energy Group, Inc., on its recent closing of the sale of its subsidiary, SoCore Energy LLC, to ENGIE North America Inc. The acquisition includes 150 MW worth of projects operating or under construction and another 170 MW in late-stage development, as well as projects combining battery storage elements.
SoCore, a fully-integrated developer, owner, and operator of municipal/co-op solar, community solar, and commercial and industrial solar projects, offers services that include project origination and development, engineering, project financing, procurement, project management, and operations management.
ENGIE is headquartered in France, and the SoCore acquisition will be a key piece of the expansion of its existing energy businesses in the U.S., which consist of renewable and low-carbon electricity generation and cogeneration, natural gas and liquefied natural gas distribution and sales, retail energy sales and related services.
