In an article posted on The American Lawyer, energy development partner Brian Nese gives his take on whether law firms competing for work in the growing energy transition area will be able to adapt and succeed.

Law firms, even those without traditional oil and gas or power practices, are adapting their existing practices to vie for work in various areas of the energy transition space, such as renewable energy, hydrogen, electric vehicles, battery storage or carbon capture.

“It’s a different flavor of a project that folks have seen in a different form or sector. Skill translates. Folks are more than capable of making that transition,” Nese said. “You are really talking about an industry sector, not a legal practice.”
