For the technology segment of Portland Business Journal’s How Oregon Works series, Stoel Rives intellectual property attorneys Matt Wilmot and Kevin Crosman authored an article titled “The Rising Importance of Artificial Intelligence for your Business,” published August 10, 2018. In the article, Wilmot and Crosman discuss several unique regulatory, legal and ethical issues that will arise from its increasing use in a wide range of industries and professions.

The authors conclude: “…AI is here to stay, and companies would be wise to consider the different ways in which it can improve their operations. As with any new technology though, companies should proceed sensibly and with an eye towards the far-ranging legal and ethical effects that such use may have.”
