Winners Announced in the 17th Annual Utah Innovation Awards
SALT LAKE CITY — Ten innovations were announced as winners in the 17th annual Utah Innovation Awards, presented by Stoel Rives LLP and Silicon Slopes. This statewide program, the first of its kind, recognizes innovations and the Utah companies that created them. The program is sponsored by Xact Data Discovery, Kiln., Cornerstone, Chase Busath Films, The Governor’s Office of Economic Development, USTAR and BioUtah. Winners were announced during an awards presentation at The Rose Wagner Theater on Thursday, October 10, 2019.
The 2019 Utah Innovation Award winners are as follows:

Robust and Efficient Battery Management System by Utah State University
A control system for battery packs in electric vehicle, military, and grid storage applications that extends battery life up to 45 percent and unlocks unused cell potential through active management of cells that differ from each other in power level, capacity, and chemistry.
COMMUNITY INNOVATION
Evolve by Vant4ge
Vant4gePoint Evolve is a self-help app for justice-involved individuals guiding them to stability, and reintegration. We reduce recidivism. Evolve leverages data to recommend the right treatment to the right individual at the right time and provides monitoring of their progress in real-time.

A committee of approximately 65 professionals from private industry, government and higher education evaluated and voted on program finalists and winners. The more than 100+ nominations were put through a rigorous evaluation process during which committee members evaluated each innovation against a wide range of criteria addressing elements such as novelty, market need, market disruption and potential/current economic impact.
300+ individuals attended the Awards Presentation at the Rose Wagner Theater. The program receives support from the Association of Corporate Growth, Manufacturing Extension Partnership, MountainWest Capital Network; VentureCapital.org, and the Women Tech Council.
