Daily Journal Names Bryan L. Hawkins to Its 2023 ‘Top Labor & Employment Lawyers’ List

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that partner Bryan L. Hawkins has been named to the Daily Journal’s “Top Labor & Employment Lawyers” list for 2023, his second consecutive year of recognition. The annual list honors leading California lawyers who specialize in wage and hour disputes, PAGA actions, employer defense, wrongful termination, and other labor and employment matters.

Hawkins is a leading labor and employment attorney in Sacramento and has obtained favorable outcomes for employers in high-stakes litigation in court and before agencies such as the Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He also provides counsel to companies around the world in employment best practices to eliminate bias, discrimination, and harassment.

Hawkins is a powerful diversity advocate in California’s legal industry and advances DE&I at Stoel Rives through industry-leading initiatives that attract and retain diverse attorneys and staff. He spearheads experimental diversity initiatives, including Diversity Lab’s Ally Action Pledge, in which senior partners champion diverse junior attorneys to overcome career barriers underrepresented lawyers experience at firms, such as unequal access to supportive networks and career-advancing work.

A long-term member and former President of the Sacramento County Bar Association (SCBA), Hawkins is dedicated to furthering the bar’s role as a leader in the civic and legal communities and strengthening efforts to increase access to justice for the poor. As a member of SCBA’s Diversity Fellowship Committee, he helps select first-year law students for annual Diversity Fellowships to work at Sacramento firms.

In 2023, Hawkins was selected by Best Lawyers^® as its Labor Law—Management “Lawyer of the Year” in Sacramento, and he received the Sacramento Business Journal’s Champions for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion “Outstanding Individual” Award.
