Webinar - Finding the Balance: Wind Energy and Avian Conservation
Please join Stoel Rives LLP attorneys Barbara Craig, Per Ramfjord and Sarah Stauffer Curtiss on Monday, January 13, 2014, at 9 a.m. PT for an update and discussion on the revised regulations for permits for the "take" of bald and golden eagles.
On December 9, 2013, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) published in the Federal Register a final rule to extend the maximum term for programmatic "take" permits under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act to 30 years, subject to a recurring five-year review process throughout the permit life. The rule represents a significant change, since under the current Service rule programmatic permits for incidental "take" of bald and golden eagles could extend only for five years. The rule goes into effect on January 8, 2014. In this webinar, we will provide an overview of the new rule and discuss:
- The current regulatory environment
- Key questions related to implementation
- Strategies for compliance
