Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act - Comparison of Select States

On Friday, November 5, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act by a vote of 228 to 206 after passage through the Senate in August. We have assembled this interactive map for your convenience, detailing the impacts of the bill on the states in which we are located.

Alaska

Approximate breakdown:

White House Summary

  • $3.4 billion for federal-aid highway apportioned programs
  • $225 million for bridge replacement and repair over five years.  Alaska will also have the opportunity to compete for the $12.5 billion Bridge Investment Program for economically significant bridges.
  • Alaska will have the opportunity to compete for $16 billion of national finding in the bill dedicated for major projects that will deliver substantial economic benefits to communities.
  • $362 million over five years would go to Alaska to improve public transportation options across the state.
  • $52 million over five years will support the expansion of an EV charging network in the state.  It will also have the opportunity to apply for the $2.5 billion in grant funding dedicated to EV charging.
  • $100 million minimum allocation to help provide broadband coverage across the state. 
  • $19 million over five years to protect against wildfires.
  • $11 million over five years to protect against cyberattacks. 
  • $368 million over five years to improve water infrastructure.
  • $392 million over five years for airport improvement and development.

  • The bill also reauthorizes the existing federal Highway Trust Fund, which is expected to generate $3.4 billion for road projects over five years.
