PORTLAND, Ore. — Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that partner Kelly Knivila has been selected by the Portland Business Journal as one of its "2020 Women of Influence."

Now in its 17th year, the award is given to 25 women who are selected based on professional accomplishments and community leadership, as well as awards and milestones. Winners will be featured in PBJ’s Women of Influence publication and honored at an awards luncheon on October 21. More information on the event can be found at Women of Influence.

Knivila counsels clients on a variety of healthcare regulatory requirements and helps them resolve disputes with federal and state regulatory agencies. She has extensive experience in the Medicaid program, having spent more than two decades representing Medicaid Managed Care Organizations, providers and state Medicaid agencies on a wide array of regulatory issues.

“I can hardly think of a woman at Stoel Rives more deserving of this award than Kelly,” said Penny Serrurier, Co-Managing Partner of the firm’s Portland office. “She brings a great deal of wisdom to her practice at the firm, in part from a lengthy stint as an assistant attorney general at the Oregon DOJ overseeing complex regulatory matters.”

Knivila is a member of Stoel Rives’ Executive Committee. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and Oregon Health Lawyers Association. She is a past member of the board of trustees of Randall Children’s Hospital Foundation and past vice-chair of the board of directors of the Southwest Community Health Center.

Knivila is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington and before several federal courts. She received her law degree, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and bachelor’s degree from Western Oregon State College.
