Companies compete for the opportunity to present their breakthroughs
to academic, business and civic leaders and investors

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah  – Nominations are now open for the sixteenth annual Utah Innovation Awards program presented by Stoel Rives in partnership with the Utah Technology Council. Nominations for the program, which recognizes innovative Utah companies and their breakthrough discoveries, are open through Feb. 14, 2018, at 4 p.m. MST.

Nominated companies have the unique opportunity to have their products and services presented to the state’s leaders in business, civic, and academic communities. Winners will be celebrated at an awards dinner where they can network with peers as well as potential investors and business decision-makers. Winners also will be promoted on the Utah Innovation Awards website.

Innovations from all industries are eligible for consideration. Past categories include:

  • Clean Technology and Energy
  • Computer Hardware
  • Consumer Software
  • Enterprise Software, Cloud and Big Data
  • Life Science: Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical
  • Life Science: Medical Device
  • Mechanical Systems, Chemicals, Manufacturing
  • Outdoor and Consumer Products

Founded in 2002 and the first program of its kind, the Utah Innovation Awards recognizes the state’s vibrant community of innovators and its breakthrough creations. In celebrating successful innovations from startups and veterans alike, the awards program aims to build the state’s economy by acknowledging and rewarding the creative minds fueling the innovation within it.

Nominees in the Utah Innovation Awards program undergo a strict evaluation process by peers and leaders from the state’s business, civic, and academic communities. Pioneering innovations — whether products, services or processes — are judged on their novelty, market need, economic impact and disruption of the status quo. Additional information on the categories and submission qualifications can be found online.

2018 finalists will be announced in March and winners will be named at the awards dinner on April 26 at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center.
