Boise, Idaho Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that partner Krista K. McIntyre has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers. McIntyre becomes the fourth ACOEL Fellow at the firm, joining Beth S. Ginsberg, Jeffrey W. Leppo and Kevin J. Beaton. ACOEL will hold an installation ceremony for McIntyre and the other 23 new Active Fellows and two Honorary Fellows at its annual meeting October 5-6 in Jackson Hole, Wyo.

The ACOEL is a professional association of distinguished lawyers who practice in the field of environmental law and are dedicated to maintaining and improving the ethical practice of environmental law, the administration of justice, and the development of environmental law at both the state and federal level.

“The twenty-four lawyers elected as Fellows to the College this year include the top environmental lawyers in government service, public interest, academia, and private practice drawn from across the country,” said ACOEL President John C. Cruden. “These individuals, chosen by their peers, have earned this recognition based on achievements over a minimum 15-year period, during which they have led the field in diverse areas of environmental law and policy. Our Honorary Fellows are the preeminent practitioners with decades of work on environmental issues. The College is honored to have this distinguished class join its ranks.”

Krista McIntyre leads Stoel Rives’ Environment, Land Use and Natural Resources group and focuses her law practice on enforcement defense and permitting under the Clean Air Act (CAA), regularly defending clients in EPA and state enforcement actions involving alleged violations of CAA programs. She participates in state rule development and contested case proceedings before the Board of the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality.

McIntyre helps her clients in other compliance areas as well, such as EPCRA reporting, CWA reporting, and agency enforcement under those statutes. She counsels clients in the development of corporate environmental management systems, participates in multimedia environmental compliance assessments, and provides customized training to engineers, operators, and management on CAA permitting, compliance, and enforcement.
